On Sunday, the in-laws, the husband, and I went downtown and walked around at the Via Colori Street Painting Festival . The annual festival benefits the Center for Hearing and Speech. The festival is free to attend. They make their money by corporate sponsorship of the artists’ squares and by people voting for their favorite squares. There is also a section where kids can buy a small square for $10 ($20?) and draw on the street and themselves to their heart’s content and their parents’ chagrin…or pride…or boredom. Here are some of my favorites, but bear with me as this was never intended to be a photo blog and we were only using our cell phones to take the pictures.
Defintely something we’d do again, but next year we’ll remember to take a bunch of dollar bills to vote for our favorites. I would hope that they would post more and better pictures on their website, but I haven’t seen anything yet.
